Action in our community
“Al-Nasr policy is that the solutions to the problems faced by communities are easier to solve in an atmosphere of religious, cultural and educational understanding”
Al-Nasr is a small independent organisation which since it was established in 1992 and despite limited resources has pro-actively assisted ethnic communities in Slough on a wide range of issues including debt/financial problems, drug/alcohol abuse, domestic violence/forced marriages, extremism, young offenders training and family disputes.
Al-Nasr not only responds to critical individual cases it looks deeper into how these problems become prominent within a community and attempts to provide longer term strategies to educate the community on how to avoid these problems in future. It has a policy of "thinking out of the box" but does not take a distant over view on how to deal with problems, it's culture is to work with clients and the community so everyone involved has a full understanding of how these problems originate as it believes unless you understand the root of the problem it is difficult to find permanent long term solutions.
Current Activities:
Domestic Violence/Forced Marriage Service
Community Hours Service in conjunction with Probation Service
Yoga Classes/Keep fit classes

We welcome suggestions from individuals on new activities they would like to see taking place and we are also pleased to welcome new volunteers to join us and contribute to the community in particular women.
It has now established a Domestic Violence/Forced Marriage Service, which responds to critical cases but which also has a longer term strategy of educating ethnic women and men to attempt to break the cycle of abuse altogether.
The Trust is able to offer this service to women/men who maybe suffering from domestic violence, mental or emotional abuse or who may be subject to a "forced marriage". If you are in any way suffering from the above and need our assistance please do not hesitate to contact us on: 07772 977 772 or info@blacknblue.org.uk
Al-Nasr is an independent grass roots organisation and has no affiliation with any large international or national body however it is keen to work in partnerships with any organisation dedicated to assisting communities including statutory bodies when it's assistance is requested.
Donations from individuals are welcome and appreciated to provide a fund for practical help to sufferers of domestic violence/forced marriages as many of these women have to leave the location of the abuse without any finances at all.
